Three themed streets begin at Desheng Gate

Dayong Ancient City sits by the old South Gate and Lishui River in central Zhangjiajie. It reopened on 10 July 2026 across about 165,500 square metres. Desheng Gate forms the entrance; beyond it, Hao Liu Street, Strange Market and Craft Lane offer different ways to spend an evening.

Desheng Gate connects the city street with the pedestrian district.

Restaurants, creative shops and interactive spaces line the public streets.

Hao Liu Street centres on the regular Hello, Saturday variety-show set. Strange Market leans toward younger food, creative retail and character interaction. Craft Lane turns Xilankapu brocade, sachets, silverwork and tie-dye into demonstrations or participatory activities.

Visitors choose where to stop while the public street remains open without a gate ticket.

Night lighting links the areas so dinner, craft and interaction can fit one walk.

An old city name in a new cultural district

Dayong was an earlier name for Zhangjiajie. The project draws on the former prefectural city and old South Gate area, using Desheng Gate, traditional motifs and local crafts to carry that memory into a modern commercial district. Unlike Fenghuang's preserved riverside town, its main content is same-day food, entertainment, craft and night activity.

Eaves and gate motifs evoke the older city name while shops and activities are contemporary.

From themed streets to the Lishui waterfront

Arrive at dusk, explore the streets and leave time for the river. Folk parades and interactive performances follow the announced schedule. A flight cinema and NPC interactions add indoor or participatory options.

Indoor projects have their own entry and payment steps.

At the river, the view opens from shopfronts into a broader urban waterside space.

Lishui night cruises, selected performances and light projects are paid extensions. A boat changes the viewpoint to the river, where lit buildings form a continuous shoreline.

Free public streets with optional paid experiences

The public district has no general admission fee. Food, shopping, the flight cinema, cruise, selected shows and some interactions charge separately. Since the district was reorganized in 2026, use the day's official notice for shops, shows and opening hours.
