Waterfall, boat and high-gorge views

Baofeng Waterfall appears on the land route before the calm lake and was used as a setting for the Water Curtain Cave in Journey to the West.

The route from entrance to lake includes internal movement, walking and steps before the boat.

Baofeng Lake is about 2.5 kilometres long and roughly 72 metres deep, with two islands. As the boat moves, sandstone slopes, shore, island and cliff keep changing. In calm weather, trees and rock form clear reflections.

The rock and its reflection can be read together as the boat changes direction.

A reservoir became a high-gorge lake

Baofeng began as the Shijiayu Reservoir. In the 1970s, a dam gathered spring and rain water in the valley. Boat visits began in 1984 and the site entered Zhangjiajie's tourism planning in 1988. Unlike the National Forest Park's summit or valley views of dense pillars, Baofeng puts the visitor on the water beside the cliffs.

Songs and cormorant fishing

Boat programmes can include local songs and a traditional cormorant-fishing presentation. The cooperation between bird and fisher connects the lake view with a water-based livelihood; the exact performance follows the boat schedule.

The cultural display takes place on the lake, where the viewing angle changes from shore to boat.

Eagle Nest Village adds a land route

Eagle Nest Village includes First-Line Sky, a steep route and a cliffside walkway before Guanyin Temple, Duo Guan Bridge and Qingliang Pavilion dock.

Water and land nodes connect the mountain path with the boat route; confirm the current dock.

The regular boat circuit can take about half a day. The base ticket was 30 yuan as checked and excludes transport; confirm the live package, boat, internal transfers and entry period. Baofeng and Yellow Dragon Cave are both in Wulingyuan and can share an accommodation day.
