CTU places Shuangliu in Chengdu's southwest
Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport uses the code CTU and lies southwest of central Chengdu. It remains a passenger airport within Chengdu's two-airport system. Airline and route allocations change, so the airport code and terminal on the current ticket determine the departure point.
T1 and T2 connect to different station names; include CTU, terminal, and flight number in a pickup message.
Three metro lines use two similar T2 station names
Line 10 has Shuangliu Airport Terminal 1 station (双流机场1航站楼站) and Terminal 2 station (双流机场2航站楼站). Line 19 and Line 30 use Shuangliu Airport Terminal 2 East station (双流机场2航站楼东站). These names identify distinct platforms and approaches, with a signed passage between Line 10's T2 station and T2 East.
Line 10 links the airport with Taipingyuan and city interchanges. Line 19 forms the rail connection toward Tianfu Airport and also reaches Tianfu Station and South Railway Station corridors. Line 30 serves southeastern Chengdu. The hotel district, interchanges, exit, and final walk determine how each line fits the trip.
The right route depends on the part of Chengdu
Hotels around the traditional centre, Chunxi Road, or Tianfu Square normally require a transfer from Line 10. Southern districts and South Railway Station may align with Line 19 or another interchange. Complete station names matter because Terminal 2 and Terminal 2 East are close but operationally distinct.
Follow signed taxi and ride-hailing zones; the airport uses several levels and pickup areas.
Cars, late arrivals, and a trip to TFU
For a taxi or ride-hailing car, confirm T1 or T2, the floor, and the pickup zone. At night, official airport transport areas and current airport-coach information provide the clearest options.
Line 19 offers a rail route toward TFU, while road transfer remains available. Check current operating hours and include baggage, re-check, and security procedures in the connection. The airport-to-airport ride is only one part of changing flights.
Travellers with an activated Chengdu transit QR code can scan at the metro gates. Without an activated code, a single-journey ticket provides a direct first ride. Current foreign and domestic contactless bank cards supported by Chengdu Metro can also tap through the network when their payment settings meet the operator's requirements.
