Chengdu Major Railway Stations

The complete station name identifies one location

“Chengdu East” (成都东), “Chengdu South” (成都南), and “Chengdu West” (成都西) are separate railway stations. Copy the full Chinese station name from the 12306 booking into the map before choosing metro or car transport.

At the station, the sequence is city arrival, the correct square or entrance, security and identity check, waiting level, and ticket gate. Large stations have several levels and long internal routes, so the gate and current display matter more than a generic pin labelled “Chengdu station.”

Chengdu East is the large eastern high-speed hub

The red Chinese name 成都东站 confirms the building before entry.

Chengdu East handles extensive high-speed and intercity services and has east and west squares. Metro, taxi, and ride-hailing arrivals can use different levels. Once inside, use the waiting-area and gate information on the live board.

Platform access begins at the assigned gate; train direction and platform appear close to boarding.

The station lies east of the traditional centre. Metro routes connect it with Chunxi Road and other central interchanges. An airport connection requires a separate city transfer, so match the station and airport code across the whole itinerary.

Chengdu South belongs to the southern rail and airport corridor

成都南站 is the national-rail station; the connected metro station is called 火车南站.

Chengdu South sits near the southern high-tech area and Line 18 corridor. It is useful for some regional services and for travel related to the southern business districts or Tianfu Airport, according to the current ticket.

The station sign repeats the full place name on the platform.

Chengdu West serves the western side of the city

Chengdu West occupies a different urban direction and connects to the metro network. It can be convenient for western districts and particular current services, but train allocations change with each railway timetable.

Passport checks and cross-station connections are separate tasks

International passengers should carry the original passport used to buy the ticket. If an automatic gate does not read it, present the passport, train number, and full station name at the staffed identity channel.

A same-station connection follows the signed transfer or exit process in effect that day. A cross-station itinerary includes leaving one station, travelling through the city, entering security at another, and waiting again; allow for every stage between the two trains.
