Contemporary art in an industrial shell
The district began as a 1950s electronics complex. Tall windows, broad factory floors and brick smokestacks later gave artists and galleries unusually flexible exhibition space.
Old locomotives and machinery keep the industrial history visible rather than reducing it to decoration.
UCCA, 798CUBE, photography spaces and commercial galleries all set their own hours; Monday closures are common. Pick two or three current shows before you go, then leave time to wander between them.
