Four destinations within the Hongqiao hub

Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport (上海虹桥国际机场, SHA) sits west of central Shanghai within a hub that also contains Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station, metro stations and the Airport Link Line. Terminal 1, Terminal 2 and the railway station are distinct destinations, so the complete name is useful in maps and car bookings.

Hongqiao Airport has two terminals. Include T1 or T2 whenever you book a car or search a route.

Match the terminal with its rail connection

Metro Line 10 serves Terminal 1. Terminal 2 has Lines 2 and 10, plus access to the Airport Link Line at Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station (虹桥2号航站楼站). The airline itinerary shows the terminal; using it as the route destination keeps the final walk aligned with check-in.

Line 2 is useful for East Nanjing Road, People's Square, Jing'an Temple and much of Pudong. Line 10 is often simpler for Xintiandi, Yuyuan Garden and neighbourhoods along its route. Check the hotel station and exit before choosing.

Moving between T2 and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station

Terminal 2 and Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station (上海虹桥站) sit next to each other and are connected by signed indoor walkways. After collecting baggage, follow the railway symbols to the departure level, pass railway security and check the gate shown in 12306. In the other direction, signs lead from the station concourse toward Terminal 2 check-in.

The connection time includes baggage reclaim, the hub walk, identity checks and security for the next journey.

Getting to Pudong Airport

From T2, the Airport Link Line runs toward Pudong Airport through intermediate hubs in western and southern Shanghai. Line 2 crosses the central city through Jing'an Temple, People's Square and Lujiazui before reaching Pudong Airport. The location of the next stop—another airport, a hotel or a city visit—makes the distinction useful.

Taxi, ride-hailing and late arrivals

Taxis and ride-hailing cars use assigned pickup areas with terminal, floor, door and parking-zone labels. Sending those details to the driver prevents confusion among the hub's parallel roads. After rail service ends, airport signs lead to the official taxi rank and designated ride-hailing areas.
