CKG lies northeast of central Chongqing, with T3 at the centre of the journey

Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport uses the code CKG and lies in Yubei District, northeast of the central city. The airport opened in 1990 and expanded eastward as Chongqing and its air network grew. T3A and the third runway opened in 2017; the T3B satellite concourse and fourth runway later created today's complex of a main terminal, satellite building, long concourses, and four runways.

Since 23 December 2025, published airport information has placed domestic, international, and regional passenger flights in T3. Use CKG, T3, the check-in island, and the gate on the current ticket as a complete set of identifiers. For a return ride, include “江北机场T3”, the departures level, and the flight number in the booking.

The main T3 building, radiating concourses, apron, and runways show the scale of the airport; inside, the gate on the flight display is the final reference.

Complete check-in and security in T3A before using T3B

T3B is an airside satellite concourse operating together with T3A. All T3 passengers check in, drop baggage, and clear security in T3A; arriving baggage is also collected there. When the boarding pass shows a gate in area J, K, L, or M, signs after security lead to the airport's automated straddle-monorail people mover for T3B.

This people mover is part of the airside boarding process and is separate from city Metro Line 10. T3B's central hall branches into four concourses, so continue to use the letter zone, gate number, and flight screen after arriving. International immigration procedures remain in T3A.

The skylight and escalators reveal the terminal's vertical circulation; floor, function, and gate letter provide more useful orientation than a single airport map pin.

Line 10 joins the airport to Chongqing North and the two-river city centre

Jiangbei Airport T3 Terminal station (江北机场T3航站楼站) is connected to the terminal. Toward the city, Line 10 serves Chongqing North Railway Station North Square, Chongqing North Railway Station South Square, Hongtudi, Zengjiayan, Qixinggang, and destinations in Nan'an. It creates one north-south corridor between the airport, railway hub, Yuzhong Peninsula, and the south bank.

For Jiefangbei, Hongya Cave, or Chaotianmen, routes commonly connect with Line 2 at Zengjiayan or Line 1 at Qixinggang. Choose the final station and exit around the hotel or attraction itself. Chongqing's streets occupy different elevations, and exits from one station may reach different road levels.

Travellers with an activated Chongqing public-transport QR code can scan through the gates. A first-time rider without the setup can buy a single-journey ticket from a machine or service centre. A normal merchant payment code is a separate function.

K01 provides a surface route to Jiefangbei

Airport Express K01 links T3 with Shangqingsi, the Great Hall area, and Jiefangbei. It offers a surface route into Yuzhong Peninsula. Compare its current stops with the Line 10 interchange route and the final walk to the hotel. Current service hours and boarding points appear on airport displays and the official airport-coach page.

A national-rail station sits below T3A

Jiangbeijichang Railway Station (江北机场站) is below T3A on the airport branch of Chongqing's eastern ring railway. The terminal, Line 10, and railway station meet inside the ground-transport complex. If the current timetable offers a useful train, the station can connect the airport with selected districts and regional destinations.

Use “江北机场” in the 12306 order, along with the train time and gate information. International passengers should carry the original passport used for the booking and use the staffed identity channel when an automatic device cannot read it.

Vehicle pickups use a terminal, floor, and zone

Official taxis use the signed airport queue, while ride-hailing apps assign a pickup area. Match the floor or zone in the app with the terminal signs. Save the hotel's Chinese name, complete address, and telephone number so the driver can identify the correct road level and entrance.
